A ban on reporting allegations that an "extremely well-known public figure" is accused of preying on young women for sex would present an "ongoing risk" to other women, the High Court has been told.
The man, who has secured an interim gagging order stopping the press revealing his identity, showed a "pattern of behaviour" in seeking out and engaging in "exploitative sexual activities with a large number of girls and young women", it was claimed.
He is now seeking to make the order, for which he applied after ITN and The Guardian approached him about the accusations, permanent.
