Don't tell me. You glanced at the words "Kim Kardashian" and turned your nose up. To you, she is the symbol of everything that's wrong with contemporary culture. Aesthetically enhanced. Cashing in on scandal. Slave to social media. Product-selling machine. Disdainfully unavoidable. Over-privileged. Oversharer. Tacky. Fake. American.

Nobody, however, is more in on the joke than her. "Once, when we wondered what might happen next [on the family reality show Keeping Up With The Kardashians] my stepdad turned into a woman and there were two more seasons right there!" she told Graham Norton last year. It's one hell of a punchline. It was funny but true: when Bruce Jenner became Caitlyn Jenner in 2015, no emotion was barred from air – Kim knows the craziest of reality makes the best television. And she doesn't care that it doesn't always make her look good.
