Yellow wind warning in effect as Storm Boelo threatens 80mph gusts in Scotland

A yellow wind warning has taken effect across Scotland as Storm Boelo threatens 80mph gusts this weekend.

The strong wind warning started at midday on Saturday, but at 9pm an amber alert comes into force, lasting until 9pm on Sunday, with only Orkney remaining under the yellow warning.

Forecasters have issued the warnings for much of Scotland on Saturday into Sunday as Storm Boelo hits the nation, the day after Storm Austen brought heavy rain to many areas on Friday.
