Scotland Yard has admitted it told the Duchess of Sussex about child sexual abuse allegations against her estranged father seven years ago, but did not pass them to other law enforcement bodies.
The Metropolitan Police said it had received a letter about Thomas Markle Sr in January 2019 "containing a number of claims about alleged offending" outside the UK.
The letter was passed on to the Met's Diplomatic Command as it raised concerns in relation to the Duchess's security arrangements.
