Missourians reject ballot proposal that would have re-imposed an abortion ban

Missouri voters defeated a measure that would have banned abortion just two years after voters legalized abortion in another vote. Voters in Missouri legalized abortion two years ago but this time the abortion ban was coupled with a ban on transgender treatment for minors. Opponents said it was misleading.
Missouri voters rejected Amendment 3, that would have banned abortion in the state constitution. The vote keeps abortion legal. Much of the campaign for the amendment emphasized a provision that also would have added an amendment in the constitution banning transgender treatments for minors, which is already illegal in the state though the law expires next year.
