High pressure has seized control of the UK weather meaning largely dry, settled but chilly autumn conditions will continue this week.

Days will bring a mix of patchy cloud, sunny spells and a few showers, with frost and fog expected to form at night - especially in northern and western areas.

Temperatures will generally be around or a little below the seasonal norm and it will feel particularly chilly in southern England and south Wales where there will be a brisk easterly breeze.
